Bloemfontein - Police in Bloemfontein arrested two men at Bram Fischer International Airport this afternoon, after seven million rand was found in their possession.

Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says the two men aged between 29 and 49 were about to board a flight to Cape Town at the time of their arrest.

He says police officials and security guards at the luggage terminal point became suspicious after the men arrived and alerted more security guards to search their luggage.

Marope says the men could not say where the money came from, or how it came to be in their possession.

He says the matter will be investigated.

The two men are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court soon on charges of money laundering.

"The two men also did not divulge where they were from as they wanted to speak in the presence of their lawyers,” says Marope.
