Mooivlakte farm robbery suspects apprehended─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 12:00 Sun, 06 May 2018

Two suspects, facing charges of house robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms, are due to appear before the Kroonstad Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
It is alleged they were part of a group who robbed a farmer at Mooivlakte farm in the Heuningspruit, Kroonstad, area.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says after tying the farmer and her employees with cable ties, the suspects demanded a key to the safe and fled the scene with seven rifles, R5 000, and three cell phones.
Mbambo says the suspects were arrested the following day after the vehicle they were travelling in was found abandoned near a graveyard in Kroonstad.
She says the suspects were then traced to a house in Maokeng in Kroonstad where all stolen firearms, ammunition and cell phones were recovered and confiscated. The bakkie, which they were travelling in and found to have been stolen in Bethlehem, was also confiscated.
Provincial Commissioner, Moeketsi Sempe, has commended the police and farmers in the area for the speedy arrest and the recovered stolen items.
The police are still searching for the other suspects.
