The acting Cluster Commander of the Park Road cluster, Kgothatso Ramokotjo, told OFM News since it is Women's Month this case has put a lot of pressure on the police to try and resolve the case. He says the police are still investigating the matter and wants to reassure the public that the case has not been swept under the rug.

“We will be giving the community feedback once we have finalised the case and we are confident [about our findings],” says Ramokotjo.

This comes after Mans’ body was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the backyard of her and her boyfriend’s home in June. The police suspect Mans’ body was kept in a cooler as the body was still fresh when authorities found her. A private investigator has since been hired by the family to help resolve the case.

Meanwhile, certain media houses have reported that an underage girl could be the main suspect in the investigation, however, police have told OFM News there are no suspects identified in the case yet. A family member of Mans, who cannot be identified, told OFM News that Mans’ eight-year-old son was not allowed to visit them at their Groenvlei home, as the boyfriend did not like kids and refused her to see her son at their home.

He says every time she wanted to see her son - she would visit at the grandmother’s house. Police have earlier confiscated the underage girl’s cell phone for further investigations, however, it was returned to her about a month ago.
