The municipal manager at the Naledi Local Municipalit, Thami Tukani was found dead yesterday afternoon, five kilometers outside Ladybrand. Free State police spokesperson Thandi Mbambo says according to Tukani's wife, he went missing last week Thursday when he was supposed to fetch her at Bloemfontein mediclinic. Mbambo says Tukani's decomposed body was yesterday found a few meters from where his car was found. There were no wounds on the body and police do not at this stage suspect foul play. Mbambo says no arrests have been made. An inquest docket has been opened and investigations continue. This is the second death of a high profile municipal official there, after Naledi Mayor Motlatsi Motloi was murdered outside his home in Wepener in 2010.
