Johannesburg - Two people were injured during the early hours of this morning when a small aircraft crashed in Midrand, Johannesburg.


ER24 spokesperson, Werner Vermaak, said shortly before 4am paramedics arrived on the scene near Kruger Avenue where they found a small aircraft lying upside-down in an open veld near the airport.

Two men, believed to be in their early thirties, was found walking around the scene. Paramedics assessed them and found that they were lucky to have sustained only minor injuries.

Both men were transported to Sunninghill Hospital for further assessment.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Local authorities attended the incident and will conduct an investigation.
