Durban - Eight people, including several children, have been killed in a fire at an orphanage in Parlock - north of Durban.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 02:20 this morning.
KZN Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert McKenzie says firefighters have managed to extinguish the blaze. He says the victims are between eight and 21-years-old.
McKenzie says four people are receiving treatment in hospital. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
