Port Elizabeth - The wool market is still continuing its upward trend with this week’s Cape Wools Merino Market Indicator increasing yet again.

According to the BKB wool market report, the 20th sale of the 2016/17 season saw the indicator increase a further 2.7% on the previous sale, to close at an average price of R158.90.

Mohair producers will meanwhile be gearing up for the first sale of the 2017 season on February 14.

According to the Mohair SA auction report, the last auction in December 2016 ended under difficult trading conditions due to the stronger Rand and the quality of the offering.
