Sasco aims to assist students | News Article

The South African Students Council (Sasco) in the Thabo Mofutsanyane region of the Free State wants to ensure all prospective students have the opportunity to study in the 2021 academic year.

This is according to the council's regional secretary, Lehlohonolo Mokoaledi.

Speaking to OFM News this morning, he says many potential students end up abandoning their studies during the registration process, as many do not meet higher institutions' requirements.

Therefore Sasco decided to assist them in finding schools.

Another challenge facing students, includes that the majority think the registration process will be quick and easy.

Learners who completed Grade 12 in 2020 also won't be able to register for the first semester of 2021, as their results will only be available on February 23. The registration process will end on February 8.

Mokoaledi, however, calls upon all prospective students who need their support to contact Sasco.

He says their goal is also to help them apply for the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
