According to the casino’s Marketing Operations Manager, Kamo Mohapi, the Bloemfontein local, who is also a MVG member at the casino, won a jackpot of R 1,784,374. 

Mohapi says the winner won the jackpot while playing the Sun Striker slot machine. 

The winner, whose identity cannot be disclosed for safety reasons, won the big jackpot on Sunday 30 May.

“The gentleman was playing on the Sun Striker, and how the jackpot works is that all sun international casinos have this machine. All customers are playing to increase their jackpot and then randomly falls in any unit. This time our player won the big jackpot which was R1.7 million. The Sun Striker usually pays a lot of money,” says Mohapi.

“He has been a member for a while and was very ecstatic and shocked. He initially thought he won R1 000 and later found out it was over a million,” says Mohapi.  

She further adds that she takes joy in players winning million rand jackpots at the casino.
