Agri News Podcast: Government responds to DA on postponement of Vrede Dairy case | News Article

The Free State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development responded to the remarks made by the DA in the province regarding their request to postpone the Vrede Dairy case that was due to commence in the Bloemfontein High Court on Thursday.

Departmental spokesperson, Zimasa Leputla, tells OFM News that the DA’s statement lacks facts and accuracy. She says for the DA to be using Covid-19 to mislead people is insensitive. She maintains that the department is committed to assist the beneficiaries of the Vrede Dairy Project.

The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will make a generous donation of 10 bulls to young farmers across the province in commemoration of Youth Month. Agriculture MEC, Desbo Mohono, says that these bulls will be awarded to young farmers who have displayed commitment and perseverance to their livestock. Speaking at the Youth and Harvest Day commemoration, Mohono encouraged young people in the province to embrace agriculture. She further indicated that the department has countless opportunities and that young people should make use of the resources available.
