#Covid19: Registration opens for next age group to vaccinate | News Article

All 35 to 49-year-olds will be able to register for the Covid-19 vaccine from this Thursday, the 15th of July 2021.

This comes after an announcement was made by the Acting Minister of Health, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane.

Mediclinic Bloemfontein's spokesperson, Barbara Steenkamp, urges everyone to register and get vaccinated as this can limit deaths among Covid-19 patients. Steenkamp further tells OFM News that people should still be cautious and vigilant as vaccinations limits the fatality of the virus, but it can still spread.

The Free State Department of Health is confident about the purpose vaccination serves and urges people to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as thus far it has had a positive effect on those who were vaccinated. The provincial Health spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, says before vaccinations, healthcare workers were faced with a dilemma where many of them fell sick because of using non-pharmaceutical interventions and interfacing directly with Covid-19 positive patients. Mvambi says the department has seen a major positive change after many of them received vaccinations.
