The case against 63-year-old Jeanette Jordan has been postponed to 7 October 2021 after appearing in court on charges of fraud.
Jordan will re-appear in the Welkom Regional Court after she was granted R5 000 bail following her appearance in the Local Magistrate's Court earlier this week.
Hawks Spokesperson, Christopher Singo, says she was arrested on Thursday, 16 September 2021.
“It is all alleged that in the course of April 2017, Jordan used false tender documents from the Department of Health to borrow money from a well-off person and could not pay it back. As a result, the victim suffered a total loss of R510 000.
"The matter was then reported to the Hawks for further investigation which resulted in the arrest of the accused," says Singo.
