Power cuts planned for Moqhaka Municipality | News Article

Planned power interruptions are scheduled for certain areas of the Moqhaka Local Municipality in the Eastern Free State this week.

Power supply will be interrupted between Tuesday and Thursday, in Roro Street, Constantia and Seeco and Lebino Street, Phomolong, as well as surrounding areas.

The interruptions will take place between 08:00 and 16:00. According to Municipal Manager Simon Mqhwathi, these cut-offs are necessary for the maintenance of transformers at substations. Mqhwathi warns residents should treat all outlets as live as electricity may be restored at any time without notice.

Meanwhile, the Mangaung Metro Municipality is alerting residents that the electricity vending system will be offline Monday night between 21:00 and 22:30.

Spokesperson Lele Mamathu says this is being done in order to ensure smooth upgrading of the system as planned.

Users are encouraged to purchase enough electricity tokens in advance to avoid any inconvenient power outages.
