The Toyota Cheetahs will welcome the return of two of their former players later in the year.

The flanker Daniel Maartens and the outside back Tapiwa Mafura will be heading back to Bloemfontein after spending the last couples of years at the Pumas in Nelspruit.

Maartens and Mafura have both enjoyed regular game time Pumas and have proved to be valuable players at the lowveld team.

Last year Mafura ran out for Zimbabwe in their warm-up game against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

The Zimbabwean international, Mafura, told OFM Sport the he looks forward to the return.

“I'm very excited to be coming back to Bloem and looking forward to joining the Cheetahs again.

“When I was with the team the first time around it didn't go as great as I had hoped it would go.

“But I am really excited this time around to get involved with the team again.”

Both players will report for duty at the Cheetahs on 1 November.

On Friday evening the Cheetahs will host the Pumas at the Toyota Stadium in an important Currie Cup game for both teams.
