Springboks welcome the support in Adelaide─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Thu, 25 Aug 2022
The Springboks look forward to the support they will be getting when they tackle the Wallabies in Adelaide on Saturday in the Rugby Championship.
A year ago, the Tests Down Under were played behind closed doors, while this time around the fans will be in attendance.
Adelaide has a large South African population and they met the Springboks at the airport in full voice last week Saturday.
The Springbok lock and former Cheetah, Lood de Jager, said it will be good to have supporters in the stands.
“We don’t underestimate Australia at all, and we haven’t in the past. As Frans said, we have an opportunity as a team to achieve something special that not many Springbok teams have done here, and we’ll do everything we can this week to get it right.”
“There are a lot of South Africans here in Adelaide, so there is good support for the team,” said De Jager.
“This is certainly very different to what we experienced last year with the Covid-19 pandemic and quarantine, so hopefully there will be a good crowd on the weekend.”
