“You must always enjoy rugby. We do it because it's fun and we love it. But knowing it's a six-day turnaround it will be controlled enjoyment, then from tomorrow we'll start working.”

The Springboks made it two-from-two at the Rugby World Cup in France on Sunday with an emphatic win over Romania in Bordeaux.

The reigning World Champions scored 12 tries as they thumped the minnows 76-0 to keep the pressure on Ireland in Pool B.

Cobus Reinach, who holds the record for the fastest hat-trick at a Rugby World Cup, came close to breaking his own record as he crossed the white-wash on three occasions again.

The winger, Makazole Mapimpi, also scored a hat-trick to earn the Player of the Match accolade, while Grant Williams, who played on the wing, scored a brace of tries.

While the Boks turn their attention to the Irish, a handful of players can come into contention to face the world number ones after yesterday’s performance.

The Springbok coach, Jacques Nienaber, said they will certainly take the win, but their focus is now on the team from the Emerald Isles.

“I'm especially happy with a couple of things we tried. The three different hookers that we used - I thought that paid off. Then Faf de Klerk got some exposure at 10 - so I thought a lot of things that we wanted to get out of the game, we got.

Meanwhile, it is confirmed that the flyhalf, Handré Pollard, will be linking up with the Springboks in Paris ahead of the Test against Ireland, however, he is set to miss out on selection.

Over in the Irish camp the mood is still high after they too won their second game. On Saturday Ireland beat Tonga 59-16 in Nantes.

They have now scored a staggering 20 tries in their first two games in Pool B and they are seemingly unstoppable.

The Irish coach, Andy Farrell, said now they have to turn their focus to the Springboks who will be their biggest game to date at the World Cup.

“We need to dust ourselves down and recover properly. It’s a big week ahead. We’re playing against a fantastic side in South Africa.

“The couple of weeks that we’ve had so far have been building nicely. We’ll review that and look forward to the week ahead.”

Saturday’s massive game between the Boks and Ireland at Stade de France in Saint Denis kicks off at 21:00.

Meanwhile, the first major upset of the Rugby World Cup came on Sunday night with Fiji stunning the Wallabies with a 22-15 win in Saint-Étienne.

It was the Islanders first win over Australia in 69-years and this will certainly make Pool C very interesting.

In the weekend’s other results, the All Blacks thrashed Namibia 72-3, Manu Samoa beat Chile 43-10, Wales beat Portugal 28-8 and England beat Japan 34-12.
