“We’ve been really clear how we have built how we want to play as a team. In terms of head and strategy we’re in a good place and with that comes confidence. There will be a high level of emotion and intent to start the game well, there always is.”

The All Blacks have opted for plenty of experience for Saturday night's big Rugby World Cup final against the Springboks in Paris.

The three-time World Champions have made one change to their starting XV with Brodie Retallick coming into the second row ahead of Sam Whitelock.

The most capped All Black of all-time, Whitelock, also known as Grandpa, moves to the bench. While Whitelock is not starting, he will write history by become the only player to play in three World Cup finals.

On the bench, the tighthead prop Nepo Laulala replaces Fletcher Newell for the final.

The All Blacks boast with a total of 1387 caps in their squad as they go hunting for a record-breaking fourth title.

The All Blacks captain, Sam Cane, said they are confident and ready.

“A lot of it comes down to our preparation. We’ve got a lot of experience in this squad and it would be silly not to tap into some of that.

“We’ve been really clear how we have built how we want to play as a team. In terms of head and strategy we’re in a good place and with that comes confidence. There will be a high level of emotion and intent to start the game well, there always is.

“But we have played two knockout matches in a row and I trust we are in a good spot there. The boys have done a lot of physical and mental prep. Although it is a final, we just have to trust ourselves to go out there and play good footy.”

The All Blacks are playing in a record-breaking fifth Rugby World Cup final, and they have just lost once before. That was in 1995 when they were beaten 15-12 by the Springboks at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. On the flip side of the coin, the Springboks are playing in a final for the fourth time, and they have never lost before.

Either the All Blacks or the Springboks will become the most successful team in history by winning the World Cup for a record-breaking fourth time.

Saturday night’s big final at Stade de France kicks off at 21:00.
