#CoronavirusNW: Premier in quarantine─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:53 Thu, 09 Jul 2020
North West premier, Job Mokgoro, is under quarantine at a medical facility after he tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday.
His spokesperson, Vuyisile Ngesi, says "the premier is not hospitalised, but in voluntary quarantine at a medical facility due to the high number of people coming in and out of the official residence".
The 72-year-old premier on Tuesday announced, despite testing positive, he will continue to carry out his duties while the Provincial Department of Health does contact tracing.
During a virtual special provincial Executive Council (Exco) meeting held on Tuesday, Mokgoro also announced that he has only one symptom - a cough.
OFM News previously reported that the confirmation of his positive results follow after the death of the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Gordon Kegakilwe, who passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest as a result of complications due to Covid-19.
