Eskom to implement stage 2 load-shedding─── 06:18 Wed, 19 Aug 2020
Eskom has announced that stage 2 load-shedding will resume this morning from 9am to 10pm.
The parastatal says the breakdown of four units at its Medupi, Duvha, Majuba and Lethabo power stations, as well as a delay in the expected return to service of a unit at Medupi, has resulted in the power system being constrained.
Eskom again reminded members of the public that its "aged generation infrastructure is unreliable and volatile".
The power supplier says its teams are working hard to return as many as possible of these generation units to service.
Eskom again urged South Africans to help reduce electricity usage in order to keep the lights on.
