ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule has come out in support of the former president and says Zuma has rights.

"I can't talk on behalf of (former) president Zuma, he's a South African with his own rights," says Magashule.

"Why should we suspend a person who believes in what he believes in," he adds.

Magashule goes on to say Zuma has the right to do whatever he wants to do.

This follows Zuma's statement that he will defy the order of the Constitutional Court compelling him to appear before the state capture inquiry.

The commission is laying a criminal complaint against Zuma.

Zuma says he isn't afraid of prison.
