#ANCvsANC: Magashule asks court to reverse suspension, but to suspend Ramaphosa─── 10:10 Fri, 14 May 2021
The ANC's suspended Secretary-General, Ace Magashule, is taking Luthuli House to court.
He argues that the step-aside resolution adopted by the ANC's National Executive Committee (NEC) - is unconstitutional and set up to specifically target him.
Magashule also makes it clear he does not want to publicly apologise by end of business on Friday for the suspension letter that he had sent to ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa.
Magashule's legal team handed in the documents at the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, where they are applying for the application to be an urgent one. They want the court to hear the case at 10 am on 1 June.
In the documents, his legal team asks that Magashule's suspension be set aside.
With that - they also apply that his suspension of Ramaphosa to be declared valid - until found otherwise.
The legal documents state that Magashule does not want to be forced to apologise by Friday and ask that this not be forced upon him.
