Eskom investigating cause of Kendal Power Station fire─── 08:27 Sun, 12 Sep 2021
Eskom is investigating the cause of the fire that broke out at the Kendal Station in Mpumalanga.
The incident resulted in one unit being damaged causing two other units to trip as well.
The fire damaged cables to the main cooling water system on the west side of the power station.
The power utility says that all staff were evacuated with no injuries.
Back in February, Eskom reported a fire at the same power station.
It broke out on one of the conveyor belts removing ash from the plant.
