According to Snow Report SA, Lesotho, the Eastern Cape and Drakensberg are on the radar for snow as a cold front sweeps the country from Friday.

Meanwhile, the South African Weather Services have issued further weather warnings for Mpumalanga with heavy rains expected to continue.

The Orange Level 6 warning brings with it a high likelihood of floods, danger to lives and major disruption to traffic flow and driving conditions.

South Africans are urged to prepare for the cold front, and more rainy weather in Gauteng. It’s unusual for the country to experience snowfall this early in the year. With Winter only beginning in June. South Africa normally gets snow towards the middle of cold season.
