Investigation underway into mass death at club─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 10:22 Sun, 26 Jun 2022
Police in the Eastern Cape hope that they will be able to determine the cause of death of at least 17 people who were found dead at a nightclub in East London.
Earlier initial reports had the death toll at 22.

According to police spokesperson in the province, Tembinkosi Kinana, forensic experts are currently at the scene to determine what could have led to the mass death.
He further stated they hope to shine some light on the situation by the end of the day.
Police received word of the tragedy in the early hours of this morning.
Kinana at the moment cannot confirm speculation doing the rounds that the cause of the tragedy could be either exposure to some form of poison, or an incident which resulted in a large number of people being injured and killed in a stampede.
