Bloemfontein - The University of Pretoria were crowned champions of the inaugural Varsity Football Challenge last night, after beating Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in the final.
Tuks beat the Madibaz 4-1 in front of a large crowd at the LC de Villiers Sports Grounds in Pretoria
It was a well-deserved victory in which they created far more chances and were much more physical than the visitors’.
The Madibaz were unbeaten before Monday night's final and went into the match with a lot of confidence.
They had a good start to the final and created the first real chance, but Tuks slowly worked their way back into the match, with the Pretoria midfielders in particular coming to the fore.
The scorers -
Tuks: Lawrence Ntswane, Claudio Barreiro, Mbongeni Masilela 2.
