PSL submit league return date to SAFA─── MORGAN PIEK 14:14 Mon, 13 Jul 2020

The Premier Soccer League called for an emergency press conference this afternoon to shed light on the resumption of the league.
There were suggestions that the league will resume as soon as Saturday, however, the South African Football Association, are strongly opposed to this.
The governing body has stated that August is a more realistic date for the sport to continue.
Furthermore, is also believed that the league is planning to complete all of the remaining fixtures in Gauteng, which is currently the Covid-19 epicentre in South Africa.
The North West is another proposed province for all of the fixtures to be completed, while a strong bid was also submitted by KwaZulu-Natal.
Irvin Khoza told the media that as the league they have sent their proposed date for the resumption to SAFA for approval.
“What we have done as a practice is we have submitted the dates which we have not made public.
“We have not released a date in public and if there has been any date in public, it is not our date because as the PSL we've never officially announced the date.
“What I am saying is that we've submitted the dates to SAFA.
“That’s what we usually do. We submit fixture dates to SAFA and what is happening is they've taken that information to the compliance officers for discussion.”
Khoza also confirmed that where play resumes, they will be using five substitutions in accordance with FIFA guidelines.
When football was suspended in March, Kaizer Chiefs, led the standings on 48 points.
