Harris pulls out of Lyon Open─── MORGAN PIEK 16:07 Tue, 18 May 2021
Lloyd Harris - ATP Tour
South Africa’s Lloyd Harris did not play against France’s Gael Monfils this morning in the opening round of the Lyon Open.
Harris was drawn to play against the 5th seeded Frenchman and world number 14, however, he withdrew before play on the centre court.
Harris recently withdrew from the Madrid Open will a lower back issue.
It is believed that this is the reason for his withdrawal from Lyon in order to save himself for the French Open.
The 24-year-old Harris was replaced in the draw by the 21-year-old Brazilian, Thiago Seyboth Wild.
The Lyon Open was meant to serve as Harris’ final preparation tournament before next week’s French Open at Roland Garros.
