The world number 46 beat Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka in straight sets to advance to the next round.

Harris was up a set to love when there was an interruption in play, but this didn't disturb the rhythm of Harris as he recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win.

Harris will face the third-seeded Alexander Zverev in the next round.

Zverev will be fresh for tomorrow's game after enjoying a first-round bye.

Meanwhile, Kevin Anderson has been eliminated with a 6-2 and 6-4 defeat at the hands of Russia's Karen Khachanov.
