Lengau Traffic Centre closed for Easter; renders few services─── 11:47 Thu, 29 Mar 2018
The Lengau Traffic Centre in Bloemfontein shut down early before the Easter weekend.
There was a long queue of vehicles waiting to enter the premises early Thursday morning. Many people were, however, turned away at the gate by security.
According to the security, there are no tellers, therefore people who have come to book for any learner’s or driving tests will not be able to do so until after 1 April 2018.
Fortunately, those who have already booked their learners or drivers tests in advance, as well as those who are only collecting documents, are allowed to enter the centre. According to the department’s spokesperson, Hillary Mophethe, the closure is due to the end of the financial year, therefore transactions cannot be processed until the new financial year.
The department is expected to be rendering a full service again by Tuesday 3 April 2018.
