FS Health remembers late MEC─── PULANE CHOANE 10:22 Sun, 02 Dec 2018
The date 2 December continues to be a sad day for the Free State provincial government, which on this day six years ago, lost the then MEC for Health, Fezi Ngubentombi, in a car accident on the N1 outside Bloemfontein.
She died with one of her body guards.
A VIP protection unit police officer, along with the MEC's young daughter, was also injured in the accident.
Current MEC of Health in the province, Montseng Tsiu, issued a statement paying homage to her memory and servitude on Saturday evening.
The provincial health department also said it would remain indebted to her for the contributions she made to the state of health in the province and department.
"We shall never forget the gallant fighter that she was, a woman of fortitude. She fought for the rights of the vulnerable.
"We dedicate World Aids Day to her unequalled and incomparable levels of activism.
"May Her Lovely Soul Rest in Eternal Peace. Sergeant Motaung who died alongside the MEC was also a true patriot to whose life we shall forever remain indebted," said Tsiu.
