Family pleads for end to speculation over Seipati’s death | News Article

The family of a deceased a Bloemfontein woman, Seipati Lechoano, who was found inside the boot of her car, have asked for people to not speculate on her death, but let the law take its course.

This as Lechoano’s body was found  by the police on Monday, with her hands and feet tied and in her car at the Bram Fischer building’s basement parking lot. OFM previously reported Lechoano was an employee at the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality’s Anti-Fraud sub-directorate and she was last seen alive last week Wednesday as she reported to work at around 07:30.

OFM News is in possession of an audio message in which a family member pleading with members of the community, in particular friends and family, to not speculate on what might have transpired. In audio he informs them about the discovery of Lechoano's body by the police.

The person speaking says: "Family I have news relating to the discovery of Mrs Lechoano but thus far there is not much detail on her discovery, so I plead with you to wait until such time when we have all full details and then we can be able to comment fully. Mrs Lechoano has been found at her workplace inside the boot of her car at the Bram Fischer building’s basement parking lot but sadly she has passed away. But the police are still investigating, am just letting you know”.

The police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, told OFM News that a case of kidnapping and murder is being investigated by the Free State police. Meanwhile, Executive Mayor of the municipality, Olly Mlamleli, has expressed her sadness over the death and further said her pain is worsened by the fact that Lechoano is a woman. She has sent her prayers to the family and says she also hopes for positive feedback from the police.
