#OFMElectionWatch: Long queues in Galeshewe | News Article

Voters in Galeshewe, Kimberley, are taking to voting stations in the area in their numbers.

OFM News earlier today reported a slow though steady turnout owing to what may have been sluggish weather conditions as rain and dark skies persisted just after voting stations opened this morning. OFM News’ Pulane Choane reports that since the weather has cleared up, Galeshewe is buzzing with activity.

Driving around the Galeshewe township, there is a festive vibe as people stand in average to long queues at the schools, early childhood centres and community centres which have all been set aside as voting stations in today's elections.

Meanwhile, OFM News Correspondent, Roderick Titus, also reports that similar voter activity is also picking up in other parts of the province, including in the Dawid Kruiper area in Upington, as well as the Kai Gariep area in Keimoes. He adds that voters are turning up at these respective stations in their numbers and there is peace and understanding amongst voters and political parties as they wait in line to cast their ballots.
