State prosecutor, Johan de Vries, told magistrate’s Ryan Ishmail that in only a week the courtroom - that deals only with bail applications in serious matters - had to sit at least three times and discuss such cases.

De Vries told Ishmail that amongst those cases was the matter between the state versus Kelebogile Mokoena and Pastor Elvis Sunnyboy Galeboe - accused of organising a hit on Kelebogile's husband Lucas Mokoena, in July, at his home in Fichardt Park. 

He also said that the district court had transferred another matter of conspiracy to commit a crime, involving businessman Stanley Bakili, to the FS High Court. He said this during the week when the court heard the bail application of the alleged killer of Qeya Jonas Tshabalala, a Hawks investigator who was fatally shot whilst he was attending to a complaint in Phelindaba in Mangaung last year.

This week, a 20-year-old woman and mother of two, Seipati Ramatisa, the co-accused in the murder case of two DA members and one Lesotho national in Caleb Motshabi in Bloemfontein, also appeared for her bail application. Ramatisa is the only woman among a group of four men, accused of killing Molokwane Mokgoro and Godfrey Mbalula, as well as one Lesotho national in Bloemfontein earlier this year - in what is believed to be an organised hit. Ramatisa was arrested in June at a house in Phase 10 in the city, allegedly used as a hideout. 

OFM News in January 2019 reported that the case regarding the murder of Bloemfontein businessman, Louis Siemens, has exposed what is alleged to be a web of organised crime in the Mangaung area.

This was revealed during testimony by the South African Police Service’s crime analyst in the Free State, Karin Jacobs, during bail application proceedings for a disbarred advocate, Karabo Tau (41), and Information Technology technician, Sizwe Mpati (36). The two men have been indirectly linked to the murder of Siemens, who was assassinated in the basement parking area of Preller Square shopping centre in May 2018.
