This follows the downing of tools, after alleged non-payment for overtime worked.

According to the Democratic Alliance's Presiding Officer, Allison Oates, the residents of this municipality woke up to dry taps this weekend, as all Maluti-A-Phofung Water process controllers declined to work because of a wage dispute.

Oates says the municipal workers were paid on Friday by its parent Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality, nevertheless, it wasn't to the satisfaction of all.

Speaking to OFM News, the municipal Finance MMC, Mandla Tshabalala, confirmed the employees were paid on Friday, but their dispute was about the unpaid overtime. He further said management had a meeting with the union in an attempt to resolve this matter.

Meanwhile, the water supply to residents has been restored.
