Vereeniging - Two people were killed and two others critically injured when a vehicle overturned on the R59 near Vereeniging this morning.
According to ER24 spokesperson Luyanda Majija, a man and woman were flung from the SUV and died on impact.
"One of the critically injured patients was a seven-year-old boy who was ejected approximately 30 meters from the vehicle as it overturned. He was flown by ER24's helicopter to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for urgent medical care."
She adds the second critically injured patient, a 38-year-old woman, was removed from the vehicle by bystanders on scene before paramedics' arrival.

Majija says five other occupants sustained minor to moderate injuries in the collision.
It is unclear how the accident occurred but bystanders told paramedics that the driver of the vehicle lost control and it overturned multiple times.
