The 30-year-old all-rounder, Ferisco Adams, is ready to make the move to Central South Africa where he has been contracted by the VKB Knights.

The Robertson-born player joins the Knights from the Western Cape where he played for both the Cape Cobras at franchise level and Boland at provincial level.

Adams even played for the current Mzansi Super League champions, the Paarl Rocks during the 2019 edition of the T20-competition.

After 39 first-class matches, Adams has scored 1900 runs, with five centuries to his record and a highest score of 149.

With the ball, he has taken 108 wickets, with the best figures of 6/42, and has also got one 10-wicket haul to his name.

Adams told OFM Sport that after limited playing time at the Cobras, he feels that a move to the Knights was the right one.

“It is exciting times for myself. I just felt that I needed to make this move for my career as well. As you know, playing for the Cobras I didn’t get a lot of opportunities there. It is exciting to make the move to the Knights and I am looking forward to it.

“I have always been a fan of them and I love the way in which they play their cricket, so I think that it was a good move for me to take that deal.”

Adams added that working with the newly appointed head coach, Allan Donald, will also benefit his game and he is ready to start writing the next chapter of his career.

“He is was one of South Africa’s finest and to be learning from him is going to be such a good experience.

“I know that he is going to help me with my bowling and everything less. To work with him is going to be a new chapter in my cricket career and I know that I am going to love it.”

While Adams is moving on, he thanked both the Cobras and Boland for the opportunity.

“I Just want to thankthe Cobras for all the years that I was with them. I quite enjoyed my journey there. It was lovely playing under the difference coaches like Ashwell Prince and Paul Adams. I also want to send a big thank you to Boland as well. Thanks to James Fortuin, he gave anything I asked for, then to all the different coaches who helped me with my career so far.”

The other new players who will be reporting for duty at the Knights along with Adams include Matthew Kleinveldt, Jonathan Vandiar, Jacques Snyman, Alfred Mothoa, and Migael Pretorius.
