In the OFM Artbeat, Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens chats to founder of the House of Dirty Shakers, Zane Muller about how this performing arts entity was formed over 20 years ago in his backyard in Heidedal, Bloemfontein.
The name was combined with “Dirty” (the very first song ever choreographed and performed by the group sang by Christina Aguilera) and Shake(rs) which was a dance style that the group mastered back then.

The House of Dirty Shakers as the group expanded from being a dance group to a dance entity, and does not want to be restricted to a specific dance style, but want to be diverse and try different things. The dynamic group do everything from performances at Carnivals, outdoor performances, productions and much more.

The group audition members who shows interest, personality and passion and then select the best to join them with a one year journey as part of The House of Dirty Shakers. They develop the members after this phase to be able to share their passion and teach others. They aim to concur the Free State province then later expand. The group draws inspiration from different elements of music and choreography so that everyone finds comfort in music.
