#OFMBusinessHour: FS fashion week to boost local fashion designers─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 19:36 Fri, 05 Aug 2022
The Free State Fashion Week is set to make a highly-anticipated return in late September upskilling young fashion designers in the process.
The event which is taking place from 29 September to 1 October 2022 will feature full day masterclasses that will focus on fashion business. The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FSFW, Candy Smith, explains to the OFM Business Hour that well-known fashion designers, such as Gert-Johan Coetzee and Palesa Mokubung will be sharing their knowledge during said masterclasses. The two will also be showcasing their work during the week.
The theme for the comeback of the Fashion Week is ‘Be Human’ and designers will be expected to showcase designs that are not out of the ordinary, but rather "human". Smith says she wants designers, and fashion show attendees to just forget about the challenges they have undergone and just take a deep breath, and ‘be human’ again.
