#OFMBusinessHour: Read of the Week – The Rat Race─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 15:56 Wed, 07 Sep 2022
Vuyo November, the Bloemfontein entrepreneur behind The Rat Race: Escaping Life’s Financial Trap, says passion is the first key to success for any entrepreneur.
November who is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Casalena Group, tells the OFM Business Hour that once you have figured out what you’re most passionate about, then you need to find a way to monetize it. He articulates these principles in the book.
Have a strong support structure
November adds that having a strong support structure will help people – budding entrepreneurs in particular - in reaching their full potential with respect to the ventures they are pursuing. This belief stems from the support he has received from his loved ones in his own business related ambitions.
The work-life balance
The Casalena Group CEO acknowledges that it’s very difficult to strike a balance between work and one’s personal life, so his approach is to integrate the two in order to achieve some resemblance of normalcy.

“When people start doing the two separately, it is like they have to sacrifice their personal lives in order for their work/business to be successful or vice versa. My advice would be integrate the two, that way you will not feel like your sacrificing any part of yourself" concludes November.
