This, following the rescue of a new-born baby who was found abandoned in the Mahikeng Central Business District (CBD).

Police spokesperson, Yvonne Tshabile, says a passer-by found the baby girl wrapped in a towel, and immediately notified the police.

She has urged residents to help trace the mother of the baby or family members.

Tshabile says the baby was found abandoned on the corner of Robinson and South Street on Saturday morning.
