North West police in Jouberton near Klerksdorp are investigating a case of murder and three of attempted murder following a shooting incident outside a night club - that made headlines for flaunting Covid-19 regulations last year.
A man was fatally shot while three others sustained injuries during the shooting incident by a gun-wielding man on Saturday night outside Thys Joint in extension 06.
Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, told OFM News that after the shooting incident a vehicle was also set alight. Mokgwabone says the motive relating to the incident is not yet known, investigations are underway and no-one has been arrested yet.
Numerous videos showing patrons at the club running for cover while the gunman continues to shoot is doing rounds on social media.
Many have taken to social media to express their concerns about the incident.
In 2020, OFM News reported that the owner of the night club appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court following videos of more than 50 patrons attending a gig at the night club - disregarding set regulations.
Meanwhile, Jouberton has recently been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. In the past few weeks, cars and private property have been attacked and burned in the area during protests.
