#BreakingNews: More protesters arrested at UFS main campus - VIDEOS─── 12:36 Wed, 23 Feb 2022

Twelve protesters have been arrested at the University of the Free State earlier on Wednesday.
OFM News reported that students have been disrupting the commencement of classes since Monday.
Free State police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, tells OFM News that at around 09:00 on Wednesday morning the police used stun grenades to disperse a group of protesters at the UFS main campus after they warned them against disrupting classes.
He says protesters were arrested for contravening the Gathering Act (205/1993), and for public violence and the contravention of a court order the UFS obtained earlier.
OFM News previously reported that three protesters were arrested this past Friday. Meanwhile, OFM News can report that most of the stores at the Thakaneng Bridge at the main campus are currently closed, while students continue to disrupt classes around campus.
OFM News has sent an enquiry and is awaiting a response from the UFS.
