#FSSOPA: Premier needs to answer key questions - DA─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:10 Mon, 28 Feb 2022
The Free State premier, Sisi Ntombela, is expected to address key basic questions during her State of the Province Address (SOPA) Monday morning.
This is according to the DA provincial leader and Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL), Roy Jankielsohn. He says Ntombela will need to answer five basic questions. Jankielsohn says the premier needs to give plans as to how her provincial government intends on repairing the provincial roads network, and how she intends on using her powers to ensure basic service delivery by municipalities, amongst others.
"Ntombela must say how she is going to use the powers and resources from the provincial government to ensure basic services in our municipalities and how she will create an enabling environment for job creation and investment and also how she will ensure improved services and resources at our provincial healthcare facilities," Jankielsohn adds.
Jankielsohn previously said that the province was still dealing with what he termed the legacy of the former Premier and ANC Secretary-General (SG) Ace Magashule.
He said the province is dealing with ripple effects of corruption, allegedly since Magashule’s tenure. Jankielsohn also took a swipe at Premier Ntombela and said she failed to address the plight of fraud and corruption in the province. Jankielsohn further added that they know that corruption is still rife across municipalities and various departments.
