The Northern Cape Government has secured another large investment, amounting to R16 billion, from the Norwegian Renewable Energy Company, Scatec.
OFM News reported on Wednesday that Premier Zamani Saul had welcomed a R7 billion investment that was made by Vendata Zinc International (VZI) into the Gamberg Phase 2 project.

According to the statement issued by the provincial government, R16 billion will be invested in solar PV and energy storage projects. The Northern Cape was one of three provinces that secured large investment pledges at the fourth annual South African Investment Conference that was held recently.
The Northern Cape spokesperson for the premier, Bronwyn Thomas-Abrams, had said that the investments bodes well for the reduction of poverty and unemployment in the province and will positively contribute to the provincial government’s vision of a modern, growing and successful province.
