MEC visits family of police officer killed in Wepener─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 07:39 Sat, 14 May 2022
Police, Roads and Transport MEC in Free State, William Bulwane, has visited family members of a police officer that was gunned down in Wepener in the province earlier this week.
Accompanied by Free State police commissioner, Baile Motswenyane, Bulwane paid his respects to family of the late police officer in Kroonstad.
OFM News previously reported that the 22-year-old police officer, Kananelo Mokhothu, lost his life while responding to an armed robbery in Wepener. In a statement issued by the Department, Bulwane said that the criminals that took Mokhothu's life will also face their death one day.

Bulwane said the department has lost one of its family members. While offering his message of condolences to family members of the late Mokhothu,
Bulwane requested family members, friends and colleagues of the deceased to turn to prayer during this trying times. He further said Free State Premier and her cabinet also sent their heart warming condolences to Mokhothu's family.
OFM News also reported that during the shooting, Mokhothu's colleague was admitted for surgery after he was shot in his left arm.
