The North West Department of Education is set to officially hand over two schools in Rustenburg.
The planned handover comes after a series of fire-related incidents that occurred earlier this year. North West Education spokesperson Elias Malindi says that department will officially hand over Waterkloof Hills Primary and Secondary in Rustenburg.

He says that the school was built by both the Education Department and Royal Bafokeng Institute.
Malindi adds that the North West Education Department is expecting Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshega; Minister of Mineral Resources, Gwede Mantashe; Premier Bushy Maape and MEC for Education, Mmaphefo Matsemela to attend Friday's event.
North West education has been under a lot of strain with numerous schools that were gutted by fire.

Ramotse Primary School in Rustenburg is one of the schools that was destroyed by fire, with the schooling community pointing fingers at criminal elements within the area.
Mobile classroom at Mamusa Primary School in Ipelegeng township near Schweizer-Reneke in North West also caught fire, with damage estimated at R180 000.
