Electricity meter audit underway in Free State metro─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 08:56 Thu, 11 May 2023

The Mangaung Metro Municipality’s power utility, Centlec, is conducting meter inspections of all electrical meters in the area.
According to a notice from Centlec to the public, the inspection will be conducted by Scigrow, as the appointed service provider.
“The Scigrow personnel shall have identification cards indicating both the Scigrow and Centlec logos, together with a letter for the utility in hand to show to residents before entering their premises,” reads the notice.
Currently, the meter inspections are in Universitas, Bloemfontein, and will proceed to other areas until the whole Mangaung area is completed. It is understood that the purpose of meter inspections is to see if there hasn’t been any interference or tampering with them. The measures to be taken if one is found to have interfered or tampered with are at the moment unknown.
