The ITEC Knights are on the brink of claiming an important win against the Garden Route Badgers in Division 2 of the CSA 4-Day series.
The Knights need just 73-runs in their second innings to record a vital win after back-to-back defeats in their previous two games.
Friday on day two, the Knights were bowled out for 214-runs in their second innings after adding just 17-runs to their overnight score.
The Badgers went on to be bowled out for 273-runs in their second innings with Thomas Kaber scoring 61 and the captain Jean du Plessis scoring 56.
The former Junior Proteas seamer, Tiaan van Vuuren, was the pick of the Knights bowlers with 4/64 while Sithembile Langa and Aubrey Swanepoel each took two wickets.
Needing 129-runs in their second innings for the win, the Knights were on 57/0 at stumps on day two. Jacques Snyman was unbeaten on 32 and Isaac Dikgale was on 20 not out.
Play at the Mangaung Oval resumes at 10:00 on Saturday morning.
