Jarvis takes a solid lead at the Mauritius Open─── MORGAN PIEK 06:43 Sat, 20 Dec 2025
Young South African, Casey Jarvis, held the lead heading into the third round after firing a superb 65 to take outright control of the Mauritius Open. At 12-under-par, he will head into the weekend with the lead firmly in his grasp.
Jarvis’ composed display at La Réserve Golf Links was another sign of a career gathering serious momentum. After lifting two Sunshine Tour trophies in the space of three tournaments in November, he has carried that rich vein of form onto the DP World Tour stage, once again giving himself a golden opportunity to chase a maiden title at this level.
France’s Alex Levy is Jarvis’ closest challenger on 10-under-par after a gritty 66, while American Ryan Gerard - a PGA Tour winner and the current world number 57 - lurks five shots back. Gerard has arrived in Mauritius with big ambitions, knowing that a victory this week could propel him into the top 50 on the Official World Golf Ranking and secure a coveted invitation to The Masters next year.
For now, though, it is Jarvis who is calling the shots in this co-sanctioned Sunshine Tour and DP World Tour event.
“I always love coming to Mauritius, so to start well in the first round and then back it up with another good round today is really positive,” said Jarvis, who shared the lead with Scotland’s Scott Jamieson after the opening day.
Teeing off early, Jarvis made the most of the calmer conditions before the weather turned.

“The conditions were pretty easy - there wasn’t much wind until the last couple of holes,” he explained.
“I’m just trying to have fun out here this week. I thought, I’m in Mauritius, so I might as well enjoy it - and it seems to be working. It’s a different course to what I’m used to, but I like the few drivable holes out here. I just need to stay patient and stick to the same game plan for the next two rounds.”
Levy’s effort was just as impressive, if not more so, given the testing conditions he faced. The Frenchman carded a flawless round without a single dropped shot, battling through a heavy downpour and gusty winds as the course showed its teeth.
“I played really solid and I’m very proud because the conditions were tough,” Levy said. “I managed myself very well and I’m pleased with that. I’ve been working really hard over the last few months, getting back to what I used to do with my swing, and it’s already paying off, which is great.”
Spain’s Manuel Elvira sits poised on nine-under-par after a 67, while South Africa’s Brandon Stone remains firmly in the hunt on eight-under as the tournament sets up for a thrilling weekend in paradise.
