With this year’s Mrs Globe Pageant, there is twice the chance of a South African lifting the crown, as Karien Jordaan explains how both Mrs South Africa Globe, Zeenath Desai, and Mrs Australia Globe, Celina Lazarus, hail from here.

Celina was born and raised in Durban and moved Down Under after matric. She holds a masters degree in Law, but it’s her charities that spark her light. She’s involved with Project Karma in southeast Asia, whereby children are bought out of the sex trade and put into safe houses and on the road to adoption or foster care.

She’s also passionate about helping coffee farmers in remote places around the world. Through her company, First Crop Coffee, Celina teaches them how to cultivate excellent beans, purchases from these small farmers, and then imports to Australia.

So when the new Mrs Globe is announced on the 1st of December, in Shenzhen, China, you might as well be on the look-out for both Zeenath and Celina.
